Square has now resolved the incident. Thanks for your patience.
Square is reporting a degraded performance on their end, see website - https://www.issquareup.com/ - due to which some of the payments that should be approved are declining.
They have identified the issue and are working on a fix. We will update our notices as we see updates from their end.
